The Millenium Institute gave this paper an honourable mention in their contest on best ideas for the next millenium.
 
Roots to Domestic Violence: The Verbally Abusive Relationship

The roots of domestic violence are based in the verbally abusive relationship, a misuse of power. There are two kinds of power that are explored: "power over" and "personal power." The result of the misuse of power is erosion of self-image and self-esteem. Prepared for the United Nations Fourth Conference on Women, Beijing, China, NGO Conference, September 1995.
