This update has a lot in it--seven local events, a new book co-authored by Nancy Grandfield of San Carlos, three national or international conferences, a governmental report on follow-up to Beijing, and new web sites of interest to women. As always, I am struck by the breadth and depth of women's activities. In my next update, I would like to feature upcoming events for girls. Meet Ariane Brunet, Coordinator of Women's Rights Programs of the Int'l Center for Human Rights and Democratice Development of Quebec. She will share information on her recent visit to Rwanda and the work of women's groups to bring justice to women victims of war.

Career enhancement workshop. Tricia Garrett will share her insight on mastering the skills to change unwanted habits, and release your true potential. She will show you how to effect permanent change and create the life you desire.
The recognition luncheon honors eleven Bay Area Hispanic women who have achieved great success in their professions and community Service. Keynote speaker is United Farm Workers Cofounder Dolores Huerta. The luncheon supports the Y's Familia Hispana Unida parenting and leadership programs
All Women Construction Crew
The All-Women Crew provides a meaningful experience to women who volunteer and financially support Mt. Diablo Habitat for Humanity. We accomplish this by providing a supportive environment where women can perform or learn construction work and by offering free training to our members. It is also a call to action based on the Platform for Action. Its purpose is to carry forward the work of all women. California women in several cities are cooperating to form CALIFORNIA SOL, the California Delegation to the Million Woman March. The MWM is being coordinated by a group of community women in Philadelphia, with Black United Fund serving as the fiscal agent for the march. Registration for the march is $10 plus $1 for postage and is tax deductible. Checks should be made payable to BUF/Million Woman March.
