After graduating from college (BBA Marketing)
did a career skills/interests self-assessment
and learned what was important to me--independence,
creativity, pay for performance = job in sales.
Chose the service of recruiting (AKA headhunting)
because I enjoyed bringing people together with
opportunities.
Comments:
Sales and specifically recruiting is an excellent
choice for women because there are no barriers;
if yo are good at it, the sky is the limit re
pay ($100K plus is common). As in any sales job,
enthusiasm and belief in the product/service
is paramount. The best recruiters are enthusiastic
& gregarious people who enjoy using the phone;
who are good listeners; who have enough self-
confidence to accept rejection; who are service-
oriented, persistent, organized, and most of all,
ethical.
