| General Comments | This is a small, public, liberal arts school which is very supportive and rather countercultural. It has a good reputation, although the computer science program is less known...but the computer science program is GOOD. Students at Evergreen do not receive grades, but written evaluations, so there is not competition among students, and group work is encouraged. This is, after all, how products are usually made: by a team. Students help each other, and there are many resources here also for those who need additional help, such as tutoring or career advising. There is a very good student to teacher ratio. Check out the pages at www.evergreen.edu and come to this school! I was in Computability and Cognition this year, and I was the only female! I didn't think I could be a computer scientist...but I am now! |
