| General Comments | Washington State University (WSU), the land-grant institution of the State of Washington, was founded in 1890. The main campus of nearly 600 acres is located at Pullman, which is one of the world's richest agricultural regions. The city of Pullman is built on four hills, and is a friendly university town of about 25,000, including WSU students. Opportunities for outdoor sports are unexcelled. Some of the largest wilderness areas in the lower 48 states, including the well-known Hells Canyon, Glacier National Park, and the Salmon River area, are less than a day's drive away. |
